Proving you can grow roses here. Or there. Or anywhere.

Meet Lauren

I planted my first roses in 2017 and haven’t had enough since. I practice full time as an architect, and consider growing roses my 5-9 (AM or PM depending on the day). Some would also call it a passion project or a side hustle. I don’t take very well to be told "can’t” and that’s how I’ve ended up with nearly 200 rose plants used for cut flower production for local florists. My dog is my best employee, I have type 2b hair, and enjoy traveling the world almost as much as I enjoy coming home afterwards.

FLORXEIGHT

“What’s in a name? That which we call a rose. By any other name would smell as sweet.” - William Shakespeare

Pronounced flor-BY-eight, the garden name comes from the origin story of this endeavor. My first garden was a 4’ x 8’ raised bed, which quickly became four raised beds, and then spiraled out into the rest of my tiny Baltimore city backyard. A wonderful friend suggested I replace the ‘four’ in 4 x 8 with ‘flor’ and thus, a name was born.

At this time, Florxeight roses are only available for sale to florists local around the Baltimore, MD area. We cannot sell to consumers or ship our flowers. Thank you for your understanding! Feel free to tell your favorite florists about us so they can get you our roses!
